[Openal] latency

hi all,

i can't understend the reason of a latency growing, probably is nothing 
realted to openAL, but could be due to some implementation error.

i have the following scenario:

PC using openal, receiveing TCP audio streaming from the network, as 
PCM, 16bit mono, 8 Khz, in a separate thread. Everytime i have bytes 
ready to be read, i read them from TCP, deque, set buffer and re-enque, 
for playing. I am using 4 buffers now.
On the other side, a little hardware send the PCM stream.

If i start receiving from the PC, sometime there is an initial latency 
of 2/300 msec, some other of more than 1 second.
Then, if i let the PC receiving, after some minutes the latency grow to 
4, 5 seconds and more.

Every help or tutorial link is really appreciated.
