[Openal] No sound on XP/Realtek AC97

Hi Richard,

Which OpenAL Device is being used "Generic Hardware" or "Generic Software"?
Can the customer select the device so they can try the other one?

Do they have any other soundcards installed?
Do they have up-to-date Realtek drivers?

I know of some problems on Realtek devices due to their false claims of
complete EAX 2.0 support.  This should only affect the "Generic Hardware"
device and only if you are using EAX (or EFX).

I have a customer with Windows XP media center. He insists he has the
latest OpenAL installed, but he gets no sound at all from my app.
Other programs (non-OpenAL based) play sound fine. He has a realtek
AC97 sound chip.

Anyone else here know of any widespread problems with this sound board
(embedded actually) and XP Media Center edition? I've googled this a
bit and found some conflicts with WinAmp reported (which we've ruled
out), but nothing else.

Many thanks if someone else has run across this before.
