Hi All,
We have finally completed the migration of the OpenAL website and
Subversion system to a fancy new server.
Specifically ...
OpenAL.org / openal.com has been moved to
http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/default.aspx (there will be an
automatic re-direct in place soon)
Subversion server has moved to svn://connect.creativelabs.com/OpenAL
OpenAL mailing list has been replaced with a discussion forum (
http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/Lists/OpenAL/AllItems.aspx )
OpenAL Devel mailing list has been replaced with a discussion forum (
http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/Lists/OpenAL%20Development/AllItems.aspx
)
The new site is sharepoint based and will be *much* easier to maintain
and update. It allows us to give interested parties the ability to
post content, and upload files to the website directly. We are in
the process of working this system out - so expect to see some changes
and improvements in the site content over the next few weeks. This
will hopefully address a long standing compliant that the old OpenAL
website made OpenAL look dead!
If, like me you like receiving OpenAL mails in your inbox, then you
might not like the sound of the forums. The good news is that the
Forums have RSS feeds so you can use your favourite reader to get
notifications about new posts ... and ... in the future it *may* be
possible to be sent an email notification (that feature is not working
at the moment unfortunately). On the positive side Forums do seem to
be the preferred mechanism for most sites these days so it makes
OpenAL look a bit more up-to-date and current.
To see the RSS feed for the OpenAL discussion forum ... go to
http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/Lists/OpenAL/AllItems.aspx and
press the "Action" button and select "View RSS Feed". Similiarly,
the OpenAL Development discussion forum RSS feed can be found on the
Action button at
http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/Lists/OpenAL%20Development/AllItems.aspx
The mailing lists are still functioning but will be switched off
permanently in the very near future - so please re-direct any new
posts to the appropriate discussion forum.
See you on the forums ...
