[Openal] Spatial Algorithms

Hello,
   Are there any resources that you know of regarding spatial algorithms
that I could use as an example? I want to create some demos for my
application, one such example would be the ability to make a sound circle
around the listeners head. Not sure if this is the right forum for my
question. Thanks
