[Openal] Linux build problem

I am using Ubuntu 6.1.
I suspected if the Linux kernal is too old.
So I updated to Ubuntu 7.1. But I got a bad luck, Ubuntu fails to update
itself.
I wonder if Linux version would affect the result.

The test directory under OpenAL sample is mostly legacy code that's
sitting there in the hopes that someone will clean it up and bring it up
to date sometime. The current test suite is altest, which is in the
contrib directory off of the root. This should compile and work properly.

I'm not sure what state xldemo is in. Last I knew, it worked, but
obviously it doesn't work for you. If I get some time, I'll take a look
at it (if you could provide a stack trace, that might help too).
