Looks like users are expressing the same concerns as you (no 32bit or GCC 4
support).

Is it necessary to compile the driver for it to work? (e.g.: like the
Nvidia drivers, is it necessary to compile the driver for each new
kernel installed?) If so, this is a serious limitation (even if not,
it's still a significant limitation). Even the enterprise-level
distributions (Red Hat Enterprise 5, for example) are using GCC 4 now.

Not surprising. Would be nice to see these eventually, but the above
issues are much more important.
