[Openal] AL error states and threads

Hi,

I've been unable to find a clear answer for this:

If I have two threads, A and B, does a bad alSomething call on thread  
A return an error for alGetError in thread B?
i.e. is the error state stored per thread or globally/per context/ 
something else?

I hope someone can answer.
