There isn't a "native" implementation for the SB Live 24-bit -- it will 
show up as "Generic Hardware".  The GH device will expose all the 
appropriate features of the card, but it is being done by using 
DirectSound 3D.

You should find that you get audio from Quake 4, but can't see your card 
enumerated by name or turn on effects, which are a higher level of EAX 
than is supported by your card.  Quake 4's most advanced audio settings 
are only available on X-Fi boards, which give you 128 voices and EAX 5.
