[Openal] Realtek audio problems ?

Hi,

So, when you have the Realtek AC97 drivers installed,  OpenAL crashes on
start-up, right?   Is this the result of a particular OpenAL call - e.g
alcGetString, or alcOpenDevice maybe?   What OpenAL devices are found on
the machine,  and which device are you opening (if the application gets
that far).

If you do a search for files in the either your application directory or
the \windows\system32 directory for files matching *oal* what gets found?
(The reason for asking is that there is a nVidia OpenAL implementation that
ships with some nForce motherboards - perhaps this is related).

I'm not sure what you mean by nvidia audio drivers - these are different
from the Realtek ones?  When these are used by your application everything
works ... but the system in general becomes unstable, right?

Hi all,
we have our app using latest OAL/DX9c that crashes on startup if
Realtek AC97 drivers are installed.

The system is an Nvidia AMD nforce4 SLI 16x - Win XP SP2.

Our application does not crash by using nvidia audio drivers, but OAL
usage (playing multiple files at the same time) causes instability and
blue screen - stop of the nvidia audio driver - nvmcp.dll.

Does anybody knows if this is a known issue and can suggest fixes/updates ?
