Just to place the blame where it's due, I'm the one holding up Chris's 
patches.  I'm out of town this week (at SIGGRAPH in San Diego), but I'll 
be back home this weekend.  Expect to see them committed pretty soon.

A new release has been a long time coming, so we're trying to do what we 
can to make this happen.
