[Openal] Mono Output in Softwaremode

Hello,

i'm trying to port our sound engine from pure DirectSound3D to OpenAl
(looking into future, Vista, etc).

While working on this, i got some problems:

1. Generic Hardware on Realtek Onboard... there are strange noises while
moving a sound source from left to right. Sounds like hefty doppler
problems. But i still read it in the mailing list: using Realtek onboard
solutions in hardware mode is not a very good idea.

2.The much bigger problem: To work around this Realtek stuff, i tried out
the "generic software" device. But using it, causes a "mono-like" downmix.
There is no positioning of sources anymore. All sounds are played centered.
With the "generic hardware" device, there was correct positioning, so the
c++ code should be ok...

Any idea or hint?

Peter.
