The SI currently has support for up to 6 speakers, but of course it
depends on the backend in use (ALSA, OSS, ...) if that is really
working. Having said that, anything above quad speakers is probably only
very lightly tested. Quad speakers worked at least with the ALSA backend
in the past, but I'll have to check if this is still the case (I had to
update my Linux box).
