[Openal] Directional source

Hi! I have a question regarding directional sources.
Have I understood the direction -and cone-theory correctly if I think that 
you can visualize it as one cone, divided into three zones and the tip of 
the cone is where the source is? Is the inner zone directed by the AL_GAIN, 
the outer by AL_CONE_OUTER_GAIN, and the transition zone by the AL_GAIN and 
the AL_GAIN*AL_CONE_OUTER_GAIN interpolation?

I wonder if someone can help me to visualize how the inner and outer angle 
of the sound cone works (in degrees)?
