[Openal] Looping sounds broken on linux?

You might try making the sound longer (duplicate it so it's .25 seconds
long or possibly more)... for some reason, in my experience, the UNIX
version of OpenAL doesn't play tiny looped samples correctly (althought,
the Windows version played our tiny looped sample fine). I reported this
issue a while back... but I don't know what's causing it.
