Seconded, I am also waiting for a pre 10.4 OpenAL 1.1 to hit the  
subversion archive (to go back at least to 10.3.9).  A couple of the  
newer features require 10.4, but aside from that an engineer told me  
they will get a version that doesn't require 10.4 of 1.1 in the  
source.  You'll have to compile it yourself, I assume.

WWDC is coming up in a week or so, so I don't think we'll see it  
anytime until after that is over, but we can hope.
