I have no problem using the OpenAL CVS repository (although you might
want to consider separating it so you can give developer privilages to
work on ALUT without granting CVS write-privilages to the entire
OpenAL tree - and vice-versa).
What I think needs to be considered is whether separate release
cycles are reasonable.
IMHO, at least for the first couple of go-arounds, ALUT needs to have
a separate release cycle from OpenAL. ALUT's shiney new WAV loader
*will* have bugs that need fixing. If we are lucky, providing a
univeral 'alutLoadAudioFile' will encourage people to donate their
own MP3/OGG/RAW/.au loaders.
We don't want to have to wait for OpenAL 1.2 before we do that.

this also applies to writing Fragment Shaders.
