[Openal] linux : autogen.sh not working?!

im trying to compile openAL under linux, but autogen.sh isnt working
it gives the following error:

[root at localhost linux]# sh ./autogen.sh
: command not found2:
: command not found3: autoheader
: command not found4: autoconf

typing autoheader and autoconf in the console comes up with some crap about 
cross compiling?
