Recording is one of the features being considered (In fact Ryan Gordon 
has put some serious work into it, including at least one 
implementation) -- it wouldn't affect backwards compatibility since 
it's a new feature.  I just wanted to emphasize in my last post that 
we're not going to do anything in 1.1 which will cause a current 1.0 
application to stop working.
