Hi Henry,

The OpenAL version in the SVN tree is currently unmaintained/deprecated. For 
Unix-like systems, the current implementation is OpenAL Soft (
homepage: http://kcat.strangesoft.net/openal.html ,
GIT repo: http://repo.or.cz/w/openal-soft.git ).

It should work on Solaris via OSS (if you think a native backend is better 
overall, I'll consider a patch adding it). So if you want to test that and 
supply any needed patches, I'll gladly take a look.
