D'oh. Thanks - the default in the header is quite correct - I could really
have checked that... (The typo is in the Effect Extension Guide PDF in the
SDK, pages 66 & 96.)

That is correct. The "GS" device supports the EAX 2 Reverb parameter set.
The Gain LF property was introduced in EAX 3.0.

As you suspected, it controls the reverb level at the reference low
frequency. The default value is 1.0. Where are you seeing the default value
of 0? Perhaps there was a typo in an old header file?
