It should be customizable, as in CGI rendering. A buffer of play length 1:00 can be rendered in real-time, or in as-fast-as-you-can mode (or as slow as you can, depending on the complexity on your DSP effects.)
Which brings up another point I'm working on: Custom DSP effects (Really custom, and not EFX style. Custom as in Coded-in-C-Like-Language).
