Contextual tidbit:

The OpenGL ES of audio is OpenSL ES -- managed by Kronos
(http://www.khronos.org/opensles/). Some members of the group who
defined that API were very familiar with OpenAL, and all had at least
been introduced to it. AFAIK, the final result isn't very OpenAL-like
at all, however (likely for very good reasons, including memory
handling).

Love to see everyone having such a good time on the lists these days!
Now if Sven would show up and rattle some branches... ;-)
