Yes, there have been problems with the doppler calculations.  I submitted 
fixes for doppler problems quite a while ago for both the Windows version 
and for what is now called the "OpenAL-Sample" version.  I thought the 
Windows fix got integrated (but may not have - check the archives for the 
Windows doppler discussion), but I know the "OpenAL-Sample" version never 
did get integrated.

The best way to resolve the issue might be for you to go double-check the 
doppler calculations in the OpenAL source and fix it yourself if needed.

I'd offer to help... but I'm am swamped with other work.
