I don't believe there are currently any plans for a hardware-accelerated 
back-end for the SI.  Creative has said that they'll be releasing a 
native Linux OpenAL implementation for the X-Fi cards sometime this 
year.  That's all I've heard about.

If you have the know-how to do it, you're welcome to add it yourself.  
Personally, I use the SI all the time, and I don't miss hardware 
accelerated mixing at all.
