That version is the latest release, which was downloaded from
http://openal.org/openal_webstf/downloads/openal-0.0.8.tar.gz. Btw, it
is in sync with the development version of debian. 

Do you suggest that I should package and upload a svn snapshot of
openal/freealut to debian/ubuntu, because the latest release is
outdated? Do you perhaps have a schedule for the next release?
