My concern is that the tons of applications and games out there have a
dependency on libopenal.so.0, and if we bump to libopenal.so.1, suddenly
the "portable" module would be binary incompatible with every SW out
there. Although much has changed internally, I don't think this is
needed, nor is this actually wanted.
I don't fully understand why the current "portable" module is binary
incompatible with previous versions on Debian, but perhaps your next
mail will enlighten me... :-)
