OK, I tried it myself and I say at linking stage that -pthread is indeed 
missing. (I was using cmake build system all the time...) I will try to spot 
the bug, but configure.ac is Sven's territory. ;-)

I am not an expert on this matter. Would it eq work in windows (MSYS/Cygwin)?
